Hi Andy,
I am in the process right now. The wood is very resinous. Just thickness sanding the sides I gummed up my sander. It has a beautiful purplish color, is very hard and sort of reminds me of cocobolo( although not as oily). I am going to bend the sides today and will let you know how that goes.

I would love to see the set you have!Dave-SKG38913.3281018519

Just finished bending both sides. Bent like butter. Although, the very end on one side did want to get a little wavey/cup after the bend. I may not have dried it completely in the bender. the second side I am leaving in a little longer and letting it completely dry in the fox bender. I spritz both sides, of each side, and then wrap in aluminum foil before bending. I usually leave the ends open so anything that wants to drip out can.

Yes, Robbie is right, my latest is with Camatillo. It works really well,
scrapes like a dream. I was getting ribbon shavings with a cabinet
scraper. Bends well, looks great, and hopefully sounds great! I'll know in
a few days. I'm gluing the bridge on today. The tap tone is amazing
though (from my limited experience anyway). I posted some pics a while
back http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?
TID=6621&KW=SniderMike#forumTop . Sorry, I tried making that a
hyperlink, but it doesn't want to cooperate. The only thing I didn't like
was that the dust from it is really purple and would easily stain my top,
because I made my rosette out of it too. Worked out ok in the end
though.

Why don't my posts span the entire window? They are condensed to
about half the width of everyone else's. Or is it just my browser? That's
why my hyperlinks don't work, because it always breaks them up if they're
too long. Arrrgh.          ;           ;

I was thinking of using it for a customer who is a bit of a beginner. He just
wants something nice and said "just pick out some nice wood"
This leaves it pretty open.
I was going to build my typical 24.9 OM. Match the Camatillo rosewood with
some of Shanes Lutz Spruce. (I just order 10 sets!!!!!) Not sure on the
binding yet. I have used a lot of ebony binding on my other guitars.
